In the past 4 years, UBD opened  so many doors for that I never thought was possible. I have developed so much, not just academically, but also as an individual. The Computer Science program at UBD enabled me to gain sufficient fundamental broad-based knowledge in the first 2 years, and it helped me gain a good ground on the path I want to specialise in. I was fortunate to have lecturers who always encouraged my curiousity and they were the best guides on this 4-year journey of mine. I was also blessed with numerous opportunities - going to NTU for my Discovery Year, being selected for summer programs around Asia to represent UBD, and many more. These 'little' experiences helped me realise the bigger picture - my responsibility as youth in Brunei. I will always be grateful to UBD for the knowledge and all the lessons I learnt within and beyond the lecture halls. May UBD and all graduates of 2018 continue to walk towards success and stay on blessed paths. Aamiin.

Alhamdullilah, my four years in UBD Computer Science were among the best years of my life. Looking back, the bittersweet experience not only helped in my academic career but also as an individual overall. Learning how to code has been a life-changing experience for me, from my first "Hello World!" to my FYP. this course has helped me built a strong foundation and skillset for my career. I was lucky to have supportive lecturers who encouraged and pushed me to reach my true potential. Studying at SNU for my Discovery year and winning BICTA 2019 couldn't have happened without them. For that, I am forever grateful and truly thankful for their guidance and mentorship. To the graduates of 2019 and future graduates, congratulations and may you find great success in your future endeavors!

Computer Science is a relatively new field whose progress shows no sign of deceleration anytime soon; and, the advancements in the recent decades in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, and Robotics means we will see more exciting ventures and job opportunities in the future. (Yes, there are some existing local companies, both big and small local startups, that are starting to use AI, Data Science, and even robotics to drive their business).Although technological advancements in Computer Science seems to move forward at a rapid pace, Universiti Brunei Darussalam does not lag behind in providing the up-to-date curriculums and lab resources to prepare its students for the fourth industrial revolution. My fellow students and I were very fortunate to be able to get our hands on (and play with) programmable robots and IoT devices provided by the university. My friend and I worked on autonomous mobile robotics; others worked on machine learning models for other exciting applications. Some students even worked on the (possibly more fun) project of developing a video game in their third year. I guess what I'm trying to say is that my experience in learning Computer Science at UBD was fun and engaging, and it has been a huge boon in helping me broadening my technical computing skills and understanding down to the theoretical level. I am forever thankful to all my lecturers who has tirelessly provides great lecture experience, materials, and feedbacks throughout my learning journey.
